“Re-Party” January 17 & Upcoming Meetings Jan 16, Feb 13, & Mar 13, 2010

Posted by Admin under: Events; Forum .

  • Re-Party, Movie and Potluck for the Planet: Sunday, January 17th, 3 –  8 pm (movie, Earth 2100, 5 -6:30 pm), at our home: 8 Revere Drive, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920 (use 07921 with some GPS systems, as we border Bedminster). RSVP, bring a dish, a friend or associate, and expand what you know and feel about sustainability. Directions are here: Directions Zelin Cloud. Please park on Revere Drive.

Thank you to the 40 people who came to our house at the beginning of January for our Movie and Potluck for the Planet where we showed Earth 2100. See the Basking Ridge Patch story here.

The movie was so powerful, the food so delicious, the conversation so inspiring and the opportunity to impact people so great that we decided to do it again for the dozensof you who couldn’t make it, and for those of you who want to see it again and bring friends.

Earth 2100 is part documentary, part graphic novel, part cautionary tale. Though it was broadcast earlier this year, it was poorly advertised and many people missed it. If you haven’t seen it, this is an opportunity. If you have, come anyway and join us in looking forward to 2010 – to new possibilities for NJ, for the Sustainable Business Incubator, for the Sustainable Leadership Forum, for Community Green, and more – and for bringing it all home to our neighborhoods and our communities.

In addition to the party, we are holding a special member meeting

  • This Saturday, January 16th, 2:30 – 4:45 pm at the Morris County Library (MCL) in Whippany, 30 East Hanover Ave., Whippany, NJ 07981. Preview of our 1-day course: Transformational Leadership for Sustainability, date TBD.

Leadership Quotes

"Nearly every man who develops an idea works it up to the point where it looks impossible, and then he gets discouraged. That's not the place to become discouraged."
(Thomas A. Edison—thanks to Regan Caton)

"Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.” (G.B. Shaw)

"There is the true joy of life: to be used by a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one; to be thoroughly worn out before being thrown on the scrap heap; to be a force of nature instead of a feverish, selfish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that life will not devote itself to making you happy." (G.B. Shaw)

"Leadership is a privilege to better the lives of others. It is not an opportunity to satisfy personal greed." (Mwai Kibaki, President of Kenya - thanks to Christine Comaford, Rules for Renegades)
